Xavi Simons is set to become the new manager of RB Leipzig, after taking over from Rudi Garcia who has been at the helm of the club since January 2019. The Spaniard will be taking over from Garcia on July 1st.
Simons' appointment as the new manager comes at a time when Leipzig is in need of stability and direction. The team has struggled with form this season, having only managed one win in their last six matches. However, Simons' experience as a player and coach should help him to turn things around for the German side.
Simons began his coaching career at Barcelona, where he worked under Pep Guardiola before moving to Valencia in 2017. He then took charge of the Spanish national team in 2018, but was replaced by Luis Enrique later that year.
In addition to his managerial experience, Simons also has a wealth of playing experience behind him. He played for Barcelona,Bundesliga Vision Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich during his career, winning numerous titles along the way.
With Xavi Simons now in charge, it remains to be seen how he will fare in his new role.
